What happens in Meditation?
We do yoga to increase our body strength, it lowers our stress levels in the same way we meditate to make our mind strong, a person who is strong mentally can achieve anything in life.
What is Awareness?
This big space (like the sky) is always there inside you. However, the secret is to recognize it. First, you watch neutrally, step back, take a break, you will be more aware of yourself, your comfort, discomfort, doubt, anger, panic, tranquility, etc. So when you are more aware, you bring space into and around your thoughts and emotions, therefore emotions and discomfort will disappear. Your work is only to be aware.
How to Meditate With Overactive Mind and Uncontrolled Thoughts?
It is just that people normally think they are busy so if you look at their lives sixty percent of the time they are thinking about something this is like chewing the cud.
Cows, goats have this facility that they can eat today and after few hours they can bring it back then chew the cud as such facility was not given to humans in their body so we created one in our mind.
To become silent is possible when you do not think of yourself, so if you think you are smart so how can you shut up, therefore, distance yourself from the thought process.
once there is a distance between you and your thought process, it does not matter what you are thinking.
Try to stop an overactive mind while meditating with these 7 tips from Sadhguru:
1. Talk less
2. Reduce body movements
3. Chant mantras
4. Break the identities
5. Don’t try to stop your mind
6. Create a distance
7. Choose the right food
The meditation should be done in a secluded place like a room where nobody except you can enter.
Sit in a relaxed manner in padmasana posture, concentrate your mind in almighty by saying a little prayer or chanting the divine names of the lord.
There are various techniques of mediation used by great masters firstly like Ishakriya guided meditation secondary Shambhavi mudra.
Practise 2-5 minutes of stillness after each technique, try to withdraw the mind from external thoughts into God’s lotus feet.
Try to silence your external and internal body sensations.
A calm body and quiet mind should be the ultimate goal of a spiritual seeker.
Maintain mild focus between your eyebrows, with inhalation you take this thought “I am not this body” with exhalation “I am not even this mind”.
